need bb
Recently I have noticed that there is a “swooshing” sound coming from the rear when cornering. It is clearly audible when making high speeds turns entering the highway. I don’t know if it’s the wheel bearings, diff/axle, or rear calipers and I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before. Thanks

MrTris
Well, let's start with the basics -- What have you looked at/inspected in that area? Any new parts or work done there? How's your tire pressure?
LongHiway
Not sure if this is the type of swooshing you mean but, I had water in the well where the spare tire sits. Drove me nutty till I looked for it. It was not a Subaru but the concept might apply.
need bb
I have looked around the rear end and everything looks fine. The sound is similar to that of a rusted rotor at low speed where you can hear the pitch change as the axles rotate. It isn't water or fuel moving around and even if I put the car in neutral around a corner it still occurs. My brakes are shot and I will be replacing those. One thought is that the calipers are rubbing against the rotor.
need bb
Installed new brakes and the issue remains The sound is low frequency and gets louder the tighter you turn. The sound is hard to explain, but it changes pitch as the axle/wheels turn.
