emericareaper2
Got myself into a Legacy GT. After having lots & lots of Subarus (OBS, RS, RSTi, 2 WRXs) I went to this. I always had a thing for them. Especially in black! So I found this one in Boston with 130k miles, all stock, & had it shipped here. I usually always do the same mods to my Subaru's & make them how I like them. It's a very solid car with barely any problems. Red: completed items Blue: bought but not installed What to fix: Paint-needs a good buffing! Hood might need re-painting - LOTS of scratches & chips Seats need shampooing Powersteering-could be low & loose belt-little hard to tun at low speeds Both front CV axle Alignment Keyfob Maintenance Plugs, drop in filter, banjo bolt filters, cabin filter, front rotors, thermostat, coolant reflush, PCV valve, tranny fluid MODS: Power Catback Downpipe Upipe Accessport & protune VF52 Drop in filter & remove silencer Walbro Suspension/Wheels Tein springs Rear swaybar/endlinks Volk CE28 replicas Sumitomo HTR Z II Drivetrain Short shifter Whiteline steering rack bushings Exterior Roll guards Paint the wheels & calipers Rally Armors New headlights then black them (both of mine are cracked) Tint AVO grille Roof spoiler Interior Boost gauge AEM wideband install All weather mats Black suede headliner/pilars Probably ad some things here & there along the way. Car runs & drives really nice! http://i.imgur.com/qXRwCWn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NKsstTk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5PCs0gI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oTx2sBj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/AIBysOT.jpg What it looks like now: http://i.imgur.com/64XbOBF.jpg
magnusonsubie
Your power steering issue is most likely the o-ring on the inlet side. Very common problem. Good looking car though! You seem to know exactly what you want to do with this car. Any reason you chose tein springs over coilovers or other spring choices? 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
emericareaper2
Yeah that oring us what I've heard can cause that. I'll have a look at it this weekend. I ran the same springs on my WRX & they were perfect. Cheap, very stiff but not a harsh ride & the ride height was perfect.

bigleben
Why going with Depo headlights? Yours already blacked out and I saw somewhere the light output of the Depo sucks. Fwiw
emericareaper2
^ both of my headlights are cracked. I've heard crappy things about depos & I also had some for my bugeye & they sucked. So probably not going that route. I'll most likely end up getting new oem ones. Then take my old ones & practice blacking them. Then do it to the good ones. Sorry for the lack of updates. Been very very busy! I picked up this little guy & he's a handful! http://i.imgur.com/r3KcCn0.jpg I also re-painted my grill & found out my powersteering was just really low. http://i.imgur.com/yc4IptH.jpg
LatentWagen
Nice car, and welcome to the boards! The PS level got low somehow; I'd check the top of the block for moistness. Moist. LW's spec. B / YT / IG
emericareaper2
I'll have a look at it. I check it today again & it hadn't moved at all. I think it was just low & the p.o. never topped it off. Haven't had a problem with it yet. http://i.imgur.com/WlbhI1y.jpg

emericareaper2
Changed teh tranny fluid today. Shifts like butter now!! 2nd & 3rd were a bit hard to get into at times but now it's all perfect. Really glad I changed it! Didn't find many shavings on the plug. Also put some LED's inside!
