abakja1
So Im on to my next set of rims and should be my last as I wanted to go back to 18" for DD and the looks,..I got 04 Gold STIs right now that Im going to keep for dyno day and Dealership warranty/work. I ordered 18x8.5 Gforces in Hyper silver for my OBP 05 LGT and Potenza re760s in 235/40/18 and got mixed replies on the thread searches. Hopefully they will fit without rubbing issues on a lowered car with GPMoto CO. http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1319 Anyone can verify as it would suck to have any issues.. MiniStiGuy
I ran 235/40/18 toyo proxe 4's on my 18x8's and the only problem I had was with camber since I didn't get the car re-alligned. they are a taller tire so that could affect camber as mine did but I never rubbed. VTGT
You went from Advans --> Rota's Interesting change. I do like the G-forces though. But why do you need to change wheels to get warranty work done?

abakja1
I bought a cool 2nd hand 2004 Honda Element form my wife and rims, exhaust, intake blah blah,..Fun car,.. Plus, i thought I was having rubbing issues, buy turns out to be bad bearings,...Though no more worries about curbs on expensive rims and I wanted 18"s again,.. http://i26.tinypic.com/1690zlz.jpg http://i26.tinypic.com/28qpyyc.jpg http://i26.tinypic.com/1zx16s1.jpg http://i28.tinypic.com/516hax.jpg You went from Advans --> Rota's Interesting change. super.duper.BL6
abakja1, you'll be fine with the 235/40 tires. I have had the hypersilver 18x8.5 Gforces since they were released with 245/40 BFG gforce sports and I had to roll the rear fenders to clear. With the 235, you'll have plenty of room to spare unless its an abnormally wide tire.

naimouasta
wow those are hot. how much do they weigh?
abakja1
The weight is about 21lbs and they do not rub,..even with a load of Costco goodies and a passanger. Ride may depend a little on the tires, as I got Potenza 760's on 235/40/18. Rims look great, ride better than the 17" Advan RGII's w/ kumhos MX on 245/40/17 They will be my permanent daily driver wheels w/ gold 04 STI rims for dealership or any other reason.. str8dwn
In the 4th and 5th pics, is there a hint of the front protruding? Not picking, as I really like the width, just not sure if it's the angle.
GULLABLE0NE
last week i mounted a set of 225/40R/18 yokohama s-drive tires on a set of 18x8.5 wheels with an offset of 35 and they didnt rub on smooth pavement. but as asoon as i hit the slighest of bumps the rubbing was unbearable. i got all of 5 blocks away from the shop before i had to turn back. the rubbing caused the rubber molding on the rear passenger side to come off and disappear. i don't know if this will help you but its the experince i had. i will be ordering 18x7.5's to play it safe this time around. (i have not dropped my LGT yet, it is all stock)
