Chuckadian
I plan on putting some Silverstar Ultra bulbs into my headlights and fog lights, but I have heard stories from the VW/Audi scene that they are too hot for some cars and can toast the harnesses in smaller, compact headlights. Has anyone changed out their bulbs to a brighter burning lamp and had any problems melting harnesses on these cars? Thanks!
Stang70Fastback
I'm running the Silverstars, and have been for years now. No melting anything, though they tend to burn out after like 6 months, lol. In fact this past winter, in a CRAZY bout of coincidence, I thought something was wrong with the electrical system for the headlights because BOTH low beams burned out on the SAME day. I was like WTF, my headlights aren't working! Generally speaking, though, no issues, just always have to replace one every 6 months - maybe the result of it overheating - but that's about it. They're nice and bright!

subikid90
I run silverstars and they last me forever, i think my current pair I have had for 1.5 years and my lights are always on. I had them on my last car for a year before I sold it. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Stang70Fastback
Yeah, I should mention I ALWAYS drive with my lights on, sooo I dunno if that has an impact.
