jackfortune
Finally got SFII to run on my Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium with a stable platform! This is a great resource for any Subaru owner. http://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20811 kudos to chuckthefuk on Subaru Legacy International for the above references and tutorial..... orndog
No support for the 13's? Does one need to purchase anything to run this?
lingling1337
Do you have it running in vmware? The first link says it won't work under x64. Or did you just install it in your x86 folder and it worked?
jackfortune
Reply to previous two questions. The only cost is for an XP Pro license. VMware Player is free. The '13 SFast database is available, but I don't have it. Maybe convince a friendly Subaru service person to burn the disk? The SFast software will upgrade from any iso file. This is copyrighted material, and I can't speak for Subaru, but if you are not using the database for profit, I doubt if they mind....probably makes their life easier at the parts department when you know exactly what you need. Yes, Vmware is the platform and XP Pro is the system...although with higher end Windows 7 iterations Microsoft will allow you to download the XP Pro core directly to Windows 7 and you then wouldn't have to purchase the XP Pro system. I purchased an XP Pro license (complete) on eBay, and installed it in VMware Player. Then followed the instructions on the tutorial and installed SFast on XP Pro. Only takes a minute to load the virtual XP Pro machine through VMware. I tried the x86 folder....but SFast uses a file from XP Pro I believe....so it won't completely install. The problem file is UNINSFAE.exe.
