__raj
Hi got some bad news on our 2005 LGT wagon with 167k with a rough idle. It apparently has poor compression in at least one cylinder as the test it blew the air out the exhaust. The mechanic believes it is bad valve but may got into the pistons too. I was rough quoted $2000 for the valve work include engine removal/install and head work. He stated no idea on pistons condition. How much more can this cost? Eg 1.5x 2x etc? JBear
If any of the problem is the valve(s), then a SB will still leave the bulk of the expense to be shouldered, no?
lee07
Just did mine in late February and it was $4500 for parts, getting the heads resurfaced and labor. Should be around 3500, but I replaced for few other unnecessary parts like timing belt, oil cooler, killer b oil pick up and few other stuff
