Valenti LED Turnsignal Issue

Recommended Posts

Yes guys I used the searched tool and found THIS but link to the relay needed Error 404. Also he doesn't seem to have the same lights as I do. I purchased a used set of Valenti LED BP taillights; Passenger has a small crack in the corner but doesn't look like it's affected the water tight seal. I followed the DIY tutorial SnowBound BP5 posted with the install of his Hanabi LED taillights.

SnowBound is correct when he says the JDM taillights don't need the "side marker bulb" so I removed mine, put the connector in a plastic bag and wrapped it up with electrical tape so I could reuse them later if I change my mind. Well when I engage the turn signal it blinks rapidly, so I stuck the side marker bulb back in and it still blinks rapidly, however… if I engage Hazards, both turn signals blink at the same rate as OEM did…

Below is pictures of the crack, I used a inner tube to fill the gap; I later want to use silicone and LAMIX wrap them a smoke tint.

Start up > Turn signal engaged > Brake Lights > Turn Signal > Hazzard light = steady blink

You need a new flasher moduel, the stock one dosent really get along with LED's. The hazards are controlled by another module, thus work fine with LED's.

If you cant find the Valenti flasher module, the TapTurn one will work and add features. The guy that makes them apparently owns a LGT, so it supporting a comunity member.

As stated above you either need to get the right turn signal relay or add resistors to your tail lights. I prefer the right relay vs resistors.

The reason they flash fast is the car is trying to tell you it thinks a bulb is out since the led's draw much less currant than the regular bulb. It thinks there's something wrong.

I found this LED flasher relay, but when I contacted their CS they couldn't tell me if it would work on my OBXT without pulling my existing fuse which I didn't feel like doing in the cold.

This is a fraction of the cost of the link you posted, and with the holidays I already did my fare share of spending on myself… So this looks like cheaper fix, but would not replacing the relay cause any harm? I may wait it out till spring and then buy the 2 step turn signals for my front blinkers and get the relay with it.
