oil filter trouble!

So I bought a oil cooler kit for my car and installed it. As soon as I started it up it started spewing oil out. After a lil while of messing around I realized my stock oil filter o-ring was just a tiny bit to small. At work today I started looking through oil filter and I found a wix #51522 that is screws onto the adapter and seals perfectly. It is however just a bit bigger. And does not have a pressure release valve inside. Is this gonna cause me any probles at all? Worried about keeping pressure up to spec and whatnot. Already blown one motor o,n low oil pressure don't wanna do it again..
