'ILL.4' code in trip meter?

Recommended Posts

My trip meter display will display 'ILL.4' for about 30 seconds on occasion after startup and will recur every few minutes, then after 20 minutes, does not show up anymore.

Any ideas what the heck that's about?

Thanks,

Jonathan

You got water in your hoodscoop. Did you go through a car wash recently?

Your intercooler is FUBAR now....

No really.. search... its nothing at all.. you are hitting the dashboad illumination (ILL) control .. or something is loose, causing the dial to move thinking you aee changing the brightness. Although you are not as cool as other people... they get ILL 7

The display is telling you what level of illumination for the dash lights you have selected. Occasionally the rocker switch for this (next to the power window switch) is not fully engaged on a setting, and will intermittently send this "code" up. It is designed to briefly tell you the illumination level whenever you change it, but will frequently display it if the switch is not firmly on a position.

Try rolling the switch through its range a couple times then setting it where you want it. If this doesn't fix it, the switch may be bad and need to have the dealer check it out.

If you get water in your hood scoop today the the dash computer has a hidden easter egg in its software that makes the trip meter display FUBAR.

If you do up, up, down, high punch on the JDM Nav, you get to see Scorpion's fatailty.

If you do up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, b, a, start on the Nav you can see how many reflashes of your ECU you have left.

no, that gives you an extra 3 reflashes. How are you supposed to beat Contra without them ?
