Spring Options for Outback XT?

I'm going to replace the front swaybar on my 2005 Outback XT shortly and am considering a replacing the springs at the same time. Rear swaybar has already been replaced.

Is there an aftermarket spring available that will improve handling without lowering the car more than an inch or so at most? Is this a reasonable idea? The Outbacks with modified suspensions that I have found by searching the forums all seem to have coilovers, LegacyGT suspensions or expensive shock/spring combinations. Is there a problem with using aftermarket springs with the stock shock absorbers? If there is a spring replacement for the Outback, who makes it?

I've looked into that myself, to no avail unfortunately. Eibach used to make springs for the OB, but they stopped with the 04 model. I was just going to do springs, but now I'm probably going to go with the Megan Racing OB specific coilovers.
