packonmyback Posted August 24, 2005 Share Posted August 24, 2005 I'm going to buy a new Subaru wagon and I'm debating whether to go with the '06 GT Wagon or the OB XT. I've never been a fan of autoboxes but it seems like the 5AT might be o.k. What are the pros and cons of the auto trans? Scotty Posted August 24, 2005 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Pro: You don't have to shift when you don't want to. You don't have to worry about car sliding back on steep hills. You don't get a work out during rush hour traffic. Less likely to break the transmission. Con: Power isn't directly transmitted from the engine to the wheels. Another computer in the car.
