toolbox1
I did a search and I didnt see anyone with this type of setup and i figured I would share. I saw this on another forum and figured it would work for us too. I couldnt justify spending 80-90 bucks for a mirror mount for my Escort 8500. So I made my own. I picked up a Reflector Clamp Action Rear 25.4-26.8MM Seatpost clamp on Amazon. Heres the link: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046DZUZM/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046DZUZM/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details[/ame] I removed the suction cups from the existing window mount. Then using some small bolts and a piece of metal I had laying around the shop I put it all together. Just an FYI....you need the seatpost with the above diameter if you have the OEMAutoDimming mirror. I am not sure if the mirror post is a different size for the standard oem mirror. I still need to install the hardwire kit but thats for another day...any others on here have done it before. The mount holds extremely well. Im still going to do a few more adjustments to get it a little closer to the bottom of the mirror. Kenny
