Neltech
***UPDATED*** I've been searching forever through multiple threads but I can't find a pic of solid red lamin-x overlays on 05-06 LGT. Mine is OBP so I'd like to see a pic of that if possible. I've see it for sale from various places but haven't seen them actually on a car. I just did a debadge/plastitip subie badge and I just want to finish of the rear with all red tails. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm253/neltech/IMAG1217.jpg ***UPDATED*** Got the overlays on last night. Turned out very well in my opinion. Was exactly what I was looking for. Installation wasn't to hard. My buddy came over and helped out with the first one (he's done tint and clear bras before) and I did the second one. This stuff can stretch pretty good with a heat gun. there's a few water bubbles left in but they say some may come out in a few days and if not I can pop it with a pin. If I had to do it again I'd probably buy sheets instead of the pre-cut. I mean they work but you have to align them PERFECT and you'll still have to stretch it a tad. I'll follow up on how they hold up for the next few weeks. The pics don't do justice. They don't look pink at all, just a deep deep red and the parking/brake lights seem to light up just like stock. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm253/neltech/IMAG1257.jpg http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm253/neltech/IMAG1258.jpg

theroyalwe
I did something like what you're talking about on my old MINI. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b233/theroyalwe/MINI/P1090421.jpg This is what it looked like before: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b233/theroyalwe/MINI/P1020529.jpg To get it I used a 3m translucent film and stretched it over the whole taillight. theroyalwe
one thing to note - it may not be 100% legal in all areas as your backup light will become a bit red. For the most part it looked the same b/c the bulb was bright enough but it's possible a picky inspection mechanic could complain.
Neltech
We don't have inspection here in minnesota That looks much better on that Mini btw

Neltech
shit, I paid much, much more than that. http://www.lamin-x.com/Subaru-Legacy-05-07-Tail-Light-Covers-p/s209.htm hopefully its worth it, should be here in a few days
ArtClassShank
Interested to see how this turns out. I'm interested in going all red for the tails, but on a Wagon. I've looked, and laminx seems to be the easiest option, but haven't found anything about anyone else doing this on a wagon, where the back up lights aren't part of the tail lights. I'm doing it to get rid of the orange turn signal portion. Hopefully its thick enough that it'll be solid red.
Neltech
i just got it tonight, its going on tomorrow. Lamin-X so far is awesome, came with a little install kit (squeegee, spray) and when I ordered it from them I asked if they could include a little chunk (asked for 3"x3") to do the screen on my MS-8 and they included a big chunk , about 3x6 for free. This stuff is THICK but it is pliable, i'm interested to see how flexible it'll get with some heat.
