300zx2g35
So I figured I'd finally create myself a build thread after being around here for a bit. This will actually be a build thread for my second Legacy. My first was a 2009 GT which I got brand new off the showroom floor. Literally. Searched and searched for a Legacy and finally found one in Northern Maryland. Went up to look at it and it was in the showroom. Last GT in the area. Automatic unfortunately, but I had to have it. Night I drove it home: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/IMG00079-20100126-1719.jpg About 55K miles later, she looked like this: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Carnage/SAM_0339.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Carnage/SAM_0338.jpg Subaru denied my warranty saying that I had a line lock and was hot-rodding the car. If you look in the previous picture, you can see my "line lock" (Grimmspeed Master Cylinder Brace). Had IAG in Westminster, MD build me a motor using an STi shortblock and VF-52. After a few years she looked like this: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Wheels/20130501_193832_HDR_zpse721da44.jpg Well last December (2013), I found a Spec. B not far from me up in PA. Went up and looked at it, and it was exactly what I had been looking for. Original FS thread: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fs-pa-2009-legacy-spec-b-sold-217352.html?t=217352 When I first brought her home: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/2013-12-07164304_zps0c6bc560.jpg Not long after, had IAG swap the motors between the 2 cars and took the blue one back to (mostly) stock. During this, installed and external wastegate installed and threw the Spec. B on the dyno. Spun the rollers to 360HP and 386 ft/lb. Few months later, she looked like this: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Wheels/20140601_113942_RichtoneHDR_zps9f8efded.jpg Disaster struck again in July 2014 and on a drive back from WV, lost all oil and the motor died. Month or so later, talked to Phil and Andrew at Element Tuning and pulled the trigger on an Element Tuning Pro Comp long block. It's a small operation so knew it would be a while before they would be ready for the car so I decided to go ahead and install my air ride. Trunk setup: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Air/2014-11-08193314_zpsaa337a29.jpg While I'm waiting, Andrew is sending me pics of the parts they're collecting. Crank: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Build%202/20141114_163602_zps0ab9c7b1.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Build%202/20141114_163637_zps3ba582da.jpg Heads: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Build%202/20141114_162628_zps595a8a0e.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Build%202/20141114_162659_zps7ab17652.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Motor%20Build%202/20141205_111547_zpsf64183c8.jpg Finally, in the beginning of December, Andrew called me up and told me they were ready for the car. 300zx2g35
Nice build! Thanks! Still waiting to get her back and I've already got a plan for a bigger turbo once I've driven her with the VF-52 for a bit. Seems to be another nut like me. Nice build. Do you still have both cars or did you sell the blue one? Haha yea maybe a little. Still have both cars for now. Driving the blue one around right now while the red one is getting done. Might decide to sell it once I get the red one back.
300zx2g35
Finally got her back after 6 long months!!! Also updated the first post with my build specs. This is once I got her home. Only Pic I have for right now. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/2015-02-13160606_zpsd1cc8483.jpg Needed to straighten out the Airride install once I got it back which turned out to be a stuck relay. Easy fix and now it's working perfectly!

Although this is on coilovers, the ride height is about the same. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/20140601_113945_RichtoneHDR_zpse372e06b.jpg I just realized this was the red Legacy in the show at Boxerfest last year. 300zx2g35
Installed my Grimmspeed top mount over the weekend. Sprayed the logo the same color as the car. Think it turned out pretty good. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Intercooler/Grimmspeed/2015-02-23082848_zpsad393889.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Intercooler/Grimmspeed/2015-02-23082857_zpse2c54e85.jpg I love this car! i wish mine looked like this. 08qsm
Nice spec b, didn't even know they came in that color. Must be rare as shit. Curious about your username though, I was obsessed with the 300zx for the longest time. Still wouldn't mind owning one but every 300zx I see is beat to hell. Did you have one? Both were '95s that I searched high and low for because, like you said, most of them are beat to hell. First one got totaled because a woman in a Dodge Dually pulled in front of me and the second one ended up in a ditch because of a sudden snowstorm. I'll get back in one eventually but for now I'm content with my Legacy and my 240z.
300zx2g35
Spent all day yesterday installing my Grimmspeed lightweight crank pulley and catted downpipe. Great pieces and fairly easy install for both. Crappy cell pics because I didn't think about taking any pics until after I was done. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Engine/2015-03-01%2007.45.17_zpsdeuxgmo2.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Engine/2015-03-01%2007.45.36_zpssdoqrodi.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Engine/2015-03-01%2007.45.46_zpsdmvkrtpj.jpg

300zx2g35
Got my Hydra installed and a base road tune done yesterday. It's so nice to feel a good amount of boost again lol. Going to enjoy where its at for a bit then get it dyno tuned. Also have to figure out the idle control valve for the throttle. Right now there's no adjustment up so the car wants to die a bit when ancillary's kick on. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/Hydra%20EMS/2015-03-09%2011.53.16_zpsok7dpbmm.jpg
