95LegacyLSINM
Is it possible to adjust the gas gauge? I have a 95 LSi wagon and the gauge needle always stops just below the full mark - I'm guessing almost a 1/4 tank low.- when I fill it up. THus it goes way down to E before it runs out. The low gas warning light doesn't work also which may be a ba blub. any help is welcome! thanks in advance!
monkeyposeur
I don't think they are adjustable. There are two fuel sending units and one usually craps out. Replacement is your only option.
Zues Marine
the low fuel light on the second gens are notorious for misinformation... if they come on at all.. the only real way to know is go F to E and see how many miles you got.. you cant adjust the gauge
Kennyfvholla
It's a sending unit issue.... Or the gauge is broken.

I have the same issue as you, and as a result, my gauge goes to E WAY before the low fuel light comes on. The low fuel light does work, however, it's just actually coming on when it SHOULD. It's tied to a separate sensor, not the gauge itself.
Zues Marine
the light doesnt actually have a certain point where it comes on... sometimes itll light up when i have a 1/4 tank left.. sometimes when im below E.. for every 2nd gen ive owned i go off of the amount i put in and the odo
mailman
There was a topic on here (I think) about doing some electrical voodoo on the sensor to make it work again
Stang70Fastback
Hmm. My light has always been consistent and accurate. Your light sucks!
twisty
ya, both my cars low fuel lights come on at the same point consistently too. different for both cars, about a gallon apart, but still consistent.
monkeyposeur
There was a topic on here (I think) about doing some electrical voodoo on the sensor to make it work again Yeah, a member welded on a little piece of metal where the float arm contacts the thin sheet of metal on the sender. It worked for a little while but then crapped out.

cal71919
Mine is pretty consistent. Once the needle gets to empty I still have roughly 90-95 miles left.when my low fuel indicator comes on I know I have about 40-45 miles left.
