z28dreams
Hey all, Someone just recently pointed out that my driver side brake light doesn't work on my '05 LGT sedan. I verified this, but oddly, when my headlights are on, that light is lit as well as the tail-light. Looking inside the access panel, there appears to be only one bulb? How is this possible? Is it a wiring issue, or does the bulb somehow have 2 kinds of filaments/contacts? Also, any tips for removing the bulb? I unscrewed the holder clockwise, but it's really wedged in there and I'm afraid I'm going to shatter the bulb when I pull it out. I assume it's not meant to be accessed from the front since the access panel is there. Does the harness nearby have to be disconnected first? Seems like such an easy thing to do, but I don't want to shatter the bulb since it's being really difficult to get out of there.
12sechatch
They do make dual filament bulbs, yes.
z28dreams
Yep, just turned out to be some kind of dual filament bulb. As for getting it out, I eventually managed to wrangle it out of there, but the short wire harness lead made it tricky.
