Bob M.
Hi, I have a 2006 Legacy GT and I use the sunroof/moonroof all the time. Now is the time of year I'd like to re-lubricate the retracting mechanism. What's the best lubricant to use for this? Thanks, Bob M.
whitetiger
I like to use white lithium grease for those types of mechanisms. you can get it in a spray can with a straw to get in to tight spots.

Well, the service manual for my '10 is singularly unhelpful as none of the sunroof pages mention lubricants.

Bob M.
What's 'X2'? Is that a product?
Brady
No, "X2" means "times two!" as in "I second that notion!" (the one which was quoted). Lithium grease is the answer you seek.
Wang Lung
Would have to say lithium is the only product I have NOT tried yet. Will do, thanks.
grovlet
I would think the Silicone Dry Lube might be an option as well!!! I use that much more often the Lithium Grease, as it doesn't attract dirt particles with similar lubrication....
avk
Factory lubricant seen on the tracks is more yellow than white. Does anyone know what it is? Can it still be a lithium grease?
