DryBear
The rear wiper on my wagon does not return to the resting position. It seems to stop at random locations. What should I check first?
Max Capacity
New guy.... You have a few broken wires in the rubber boot on the right side of the hatch. Open the hatch, look up by the hinge, pull the rubber boot back, you'll se e the braoken wires. Very common. My body shop buddy repaired all my broken wires for $120. The dealer wanted like $400 to replace the harness. Make sure the boot is water tight after the repair, if not, you'll know it. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Lafta
Max, I have the exact same problem as the OP. Can one simply splice together any broken wires to remedy the rear window wiper not returning correctly? If yes, then how?
Max Capacity
Yes, I believe that's what they did. When you pull back the rubber to expose the wires, you'll understand why it was much easier to "pay the man". Body shop guy's get into this kind of stuff all the time. My buddy's shop does a lot of restration work, so they have a clue about wires. There is a thread about this problem here. I think they drop the headliner to help make it easier. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
