SneakyFast
I have done a lot of searching and haven't really come up with a solution for this. I have an occasional squeaking noise that is coming from my trunk, mostly wile making turns. I am pretty sure it is the torque bars as the rest of the trunk and the rear deck are very well sound dampened. This didn't ever happen before the install of my sub. I think all of the vibration loosened them up. These things buzz like hell when the sub is going too. Thankfully you can't really hear them buzz from the front seat of the car. Has anyone removed the torque bars or come up with another solution to shut these things up? I'm anal and this type of stuff drives me crazy. PS I'm out of warranty so I really don't want to take this problem to the dealer unless they have an inexpensive effective fix. (I don't want to pay them a bunch of money to fiddle with this thing and never get it properly fixed.) Any suggestions or experiences?
lilbrudder
i remember some time ago someone replaced them with those hydrilic lifters like under the hood of nicer cars. sorry i don't have specs but if you find the thread it had part number and where to mount info. SneakyFast
Interesting. I will have to do some searching. Anyone else run into this problem... Or maybe run into a solution?...
Inigo Montoya
I took a few of the coil rubber 'cord keepers' from a Fry's electronics and basically coiled them where the bars tend to touch. I had the same issue when they ground up a road for repaving. Since then no issue, but I don't have subs so YMMV
