johnegg Posted April 6, 2011 Share Posted April 6, 2011 ej25 phase 1 is DOHC and phase 2 is SOHC. and you can't swap a phase 2 engine, 99/00 - 04, into a phase 1 car, 96 - 98/99, or vice-verse. at least you can't swap one easily. given enough time and money you can do what ever you want. your engine is a phase 1, DOHC, if it's an ej25. EDIT: ej25 phase 2 started in 99 for foresters and 00 for outbacks . ej22 phase 2 started in 99 for legos and imprezas. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
