Tell me all about Launching (5EAT)

Recommended Posts

I've got a pretty decent stage 2 05 OBXT 5EAT. Heres what it has: GrimmSpeed TMIC, Invidia Down, GrimmSpeed UP, Hexmods VB, 3port BCS, 3" Catback, Protuned by Ray Arroyo - 235 whp, 299 wTq.

Tell me everything you can about launching this car. I haven't ever done anything more than a mild 900-1000 RPM brake boost. Some days its quick, some days its not.

Tell me:

-How to yield a good 1/4 mile time if I so choose to track it for a day

-What will cause destruction of it

-the sweetspot RPM

-the sweetspot "SAFE" RPM if its possible

-Any tips and tricks of the trade or anything else you guys know

Thanks!

Dont risk it. Youll get away with the first one but after that youll either grenade the diff or break something in the tranny.

I bought an auto be more involved in my uninvolvedness . 200k+ Club

If you can't blind them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.

My high mileage turd.

personaly my best launch's have been starting in 2nd gear and power brake it to 2500. ive done 4.7 0-60 this way....

Good thinking there, take off in 2nd, less stress on things.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
