gfxone
So I picked up my 2015 legacy about 2 weeks ago. That day there was some minor glue left on the rims from the packagaing i would assume. As i've driven it, it got dirtier and these spots stuck out more. I used some Armor all, wheel and tire cleaner with a towel and even after two applications and alot of rubbing, some of this glue won't come off. Whats the best stuff to use to remove hardened glue / grease from the wheels?
road race legacy
GooGone or some wd40 to get rid of the glue. As far as brake dust I use Sonax. http://www.detailersdomain.com/Sonax-Full-Effect-Wheel-Cleaner-500ml_p_324.html
Legit_LGT
I used GooGone to remove some road tar and glue left over from missing stick on weights. A bottle of "Scrubbing Bubbles and Formula 409" works as a very good degreaser/cleaner for smaller messes, and it's very cheap.
MrTris
I'm a huge fan of Griot's, especially since they're a local company. I use this regularly. It's BBS approved. http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/wheel+cleaner+35+ounces.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=Search EDIT: I glossed, but not effectively. Here, try this, too: http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/3m+specialty+adhesive+remover.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=Search
DonnyJagaru
Mineral oil is good for removing goo from adhesive labels and such. Its completely harmless to paint and not toxic either.

Get their random orbital and do your car with it and whichever combination of polish and sealant or wax. (I Recommend Complete Compound with One-Step Sealant, and, if you're feeling ritzy, Best of Show. ) You'll never go back to whatever you used before. The results are amazing. Cyc66
I picked up my car on Saturday and had lots of glue on all the wheels. I managed to clean two with WD40 and I'll get to the other two when I have time: http://i.imgur.com/rKOjz5B.jpg
OCDetails
WD40 or anything else with mineral spirits in it should do the trick on glue adhesive. A little heat wouldn't hurt either. Heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun before trying to remove it. Apply whatever adhesive remover you are using to a towel and then let that soak into the sticky stuff for a second. It should come up pretty quick after that. Just stay away from anything abrasive or you will leave scuffs that won't wash off. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S .
