Its much more common for the rear baffle plate to leak on our cars, which sits very close to the rear main. I had the rear baffle plate seal go out on me, quite spendy to fix. shutterbc Posted October 22, 2009 Share Posted October 22, 2009 Judging from the responses, it sounds like "ream" may be the proper word after all. I had the baffle plate go on my Impreza before because in 1998 they used a plastic one and it warped (high revs at low speed == melting).
