dark_thorns
This may be a stupid question but is there some special way you're supposed to pull off the crankshaft sprocket? i looked in the service manual and it says to just pull it off but mine isn't budging. and there aren't any threaded holes to use a puller. is mine just stuck? it wouldn't surprise me considering i pulled the motor out of a junkyard car. johnegg
it is supposed to just come off, but 15 - 20 years will change that a bit, sometimes. the first time i did it i ''tapped'' threads into the 2 holes on the pulley and then used a puller i borrowed from autozone. since then i have managed to get them off without going through all that. i usually , carefully tap on the center section of the pulley with a hammer to ''break'' the seal and it slides off. use some spray lube . careful not to damage the vanes on the outer edge of the pulley
twisty
I used a timing puller from auto zone that had thin hooks. I had to take the U shaped part off the center bolt of the puller for it to work tho
