thesavo
2004 USDM Legacy L-s wagon. While trying to make life easier, I made it harder. I did this while working on the front tie rod. I sheared off the middle brake shield bolt. I was more careful/lucky with the top and bottom bolts. http://i1344.photobucket.com/albums/p659/thesavo/Legacy_G3-Ssuspension/IMG_20140920_120523_224_zpsb4z1ft7m.jpg Has anyone else had this issue? How should I do to go about fixing it? Drill/tap - for smaller bolt. Zip tie - probably not smart Leave it? The other two put up a fight but came out OK. I wonder if trying to recover the remains is even possible without a torch.
orndog
You can try an extractor, or drill it out. btw, do you park that thing in the ocean?
thesavo
Nope. The wonders of a decade-ian in new York/ new England. That's just what call surface rust. It's a bit like a "flesh wound" In Hollywood. I already broke a GRAB-IT off it. It's my own fault for trying to remove it after hassling with the tie rods. ;-)
hobo2701
i rock with no dust shields but had to cut a spacer the same with as the shield as so the brakes still had the same geometry.

thesavo
Thanks for the observation. That was taken before I replaced the tie rod ends. The new one had a nylon lock nut.
