Manchildlgt07
I've been looking for a transmission for my 07 legacy, but it's very hard to come by... I had found a transmission off a 2000 2.5rs. I was wandering is there any downfall to using this tranny.. Is there anything that would need to be changed as well? Thanx for the help
thisisthenewsic
Find a stock legacy trans. It will not work with the front axles. Rear diff is most likely a different ratio and rs trans is no where near as stock
Manchildlgt07
The rear diff is the same ratio.. I wasn't sure about the front axles. I also found one from a 99 legacy with also the same final drive

whitetiger
the 2000 RS trans is weaker than the the modern 4th gen 5mt. you dont want to use it
thisisthenewsic
the 2000 rs trans had stubs coming out of the trans. which u cannot remove without taking the trans apart. the sti 6 speed stubs can be removed easily. the lgt does not have stubs and the axle inserts into the trans. what is the issue with your trans. you would be better off spending $$ to rebuild it if its got issues.
