legacy604
The Pinch Weld on my car is deformed due to using Jack stand. Should I try to bend it back or just leave it? I am also planning to touching it up with paint to avoid rust. Are there any drain hole on the pinch weld that I should be aware of ? Thanks
Max Capacity
I vote for touching up the paint only. Take a look at the other side and see if there's a drain hole looking thingy... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). I did checked. Because both sides are deformed, I can't really tell for sure. They can be either drain holes or just layers of pinch weld splitting. outahere
I always use a short piece of 2x4 lumber on a jack stand or hydraulic jack, as a cushion. So far, no damaged pinch welds.
Polo08816
Would these issues be mitigated by the use of something like this: http://www.burgertuning.com/mini_cooper_countryman_paceman_pinch_weld_floor_jack_adapter.html?
theflystyle
I use a hockey puck between my jack and car. Works like a charm.
