axis008
There currently aren't any. The USDM Outback (and Legacy) have different grilles then elsewhere in the world. Also, the thing with the Outback is they have a chrome strip on the tip of the hood, meaning any grille would have to integrate it in its design. -ben

PiKap335
There are a few of us wanting to change the grill...we've been discussing it here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101439
05 Outback 2.5i
I wonder why the change from the original design ('05-'07)? Just to change something? The original design was so nice (IMHO), the new one looks too much like a Chrysler Pacifica..
firepyro515
Easiest way to change would be to paint the chrome. other than that, i don't know of any usdm grille options
PiKap335
That's the way it's looking. Going to do mine in Black Chrome once I get the time. :::Nevermind - I just priced this stuff ...$450 a quart !:::
PiKap335
Since it looks like painting is our only option, I drew up some (crappy) images of two different options. Personally, I think just painting the wings black looks the best.
sdvictor
Actually, i woudn't mind keeping the chrome surround, cutting out the center fins (sans the logo support) and overlay it with a nicely and tastefully done wire mesh.
PiKap335
Actually, i woudn't mind keeping the chrome surround, cutting out the center fins (sans the logo support) and overlay it with a nicely and tastefully done wire mesh. The problem w/ this is there's no frame for the top portion of the grill. It might be possible to run a thin metal bar across the top of the mesh and secure it somehow... I like the chrome around too now that I look at it. I would be very happy if I could somehow integrate the mesh like you mentioned above.
D_J
Yeah it will be a lot harder painting the hood piece, so just doing the wings only seems to make the most sense.
firepyro515
might just require a lot of tape, and i mean alot, like the guys who tape up their car for cross country runs.
PiKap335
From what I remember, the chrome strip can be removed from the hood.
PiKap335
The guys over at SubaruOutback.org have been discussing this as well, here: http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9317 Some nice photoshop's of possible options...one rumor of Rallitek developing a grill, but that was nearly a year ago
PiKap335
For those interested - group buy for 08/09 OB Grill: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106444
D_J
I proposed the Australian / JDM grid style in silver. Re-painting the chrome strip on hood is not a good option IMO. So silver in the middle photo is prob the best bet.
PiKap335
Just sent my PM to add me to the list. I'm going to have to paint mine black...the silver would not go well w/ the rest of my car. I'd be very happy if R-Rev can develop something close to the AUS grill - exactly what I'm looking for.
