I am new to h4 engines, just bought one still got a lot of questions about the knocking of the 2&4 pistons (bad/will it last/omg/and so on) but im currently concerned with the air intake as it is time to change the filter and i thought id rather spend money on CAI rather than a filter in the old system but i dont know how they go on (unless i get an hood scoop intake) with the engine ive also been looking for one on the net and the only ones i could find would be 2004-**** legacy gt which seems to be different could you guys help me out please thanks in advance! Just change the filter (cheap) or even go to a K&N, and pray that the engine doesn't go before you are half prepared to do something about it. Search function is your friend. O. android25ua Posted September 6, 2008 Author Share Posted September 6, 2008 yeah but its the kinda piston slap that goes away after the engine is warm - all ive read about it is that its there with most subarus and doesnt really mean anything - i drove a 2007 wrx wagon and it had the same thing lol also im comparing it to people that have it and were posting sound recordings of it - mine is like 1/6 times less than that do you really think its a big concern?
