sgeorge
I recently installed swift springs on my lgt wagon. i let them settle for about a week and then took off on vacation. I took it to get realigned when i got back from vacation(last monday) and everything was fine for a few days. However 2 nights ago i noticed the driver side rear looked lower then that passenger side. Sure enough i have a finger gap on the driver side and 2 finger gap on the passenger side. A friend and i did the install, this is not the first spring swap we have done. Any insight as to why this would happen or what could be wrong? badfish11
Was all the vacation suff packed on one side of the car? Could the driver side have settled quickly than the other?

PhilT
If it wasn't your first install I would question whether the spring mounts were correctly orientated. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
sgeorge
It is possible that the spring mount is incorrect as my friend did both driver's side swaps and i did the passenger side swaps now that i think about it. Anything other possibilities?
sgeorge
Obviously it is something with the spring as it is not allowed uncompress all the way. Anybody else with swifts have a similar problem?
HansGT
Does it look like this? (Bilsteins, but KYB's should be the same)
sgeorge
Yes it looks like that as far as i can tell with the wheel on. I will take the wheel off tomorrow and make sure the spring is seated correctly. Is it possible that my friend tightened the strut bolt down too far? musclecpa
I have Swift sway bars and springs with stock shocks too, but the drop is even at all 4 corners.
VXCL
are you sure its not where you are parked? in my drive way my gap is uneven l to r 1 finger one side 2 on the other, but in a normal parking lot its dead even 1 finger all around MAYHEM #122/22 STS NNJR SCCA AUTOX4U.COM XENON RETRO GUIDE
ebpda9
looking at my front bilsteins it seems that the distance between the top of the wheel and lower spring perch are off by .25" front to right, so it makes me think something must be tweaked below the strut
sgeorge
It wasn't just where i parked. I haven't had a chance to mess with yet like i hoped. But it makes sense that either the strut is damaged or something else is tweaked. Hopefully ill get a chance this week.
