Grimmrican
Sup guys and girls. Today I decided to test my battery at work and ran to a small issue/bafflement. In the illustrations below you will see how it went. Battery was okay. Not at it's best but okay... http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/20/u7y3adur.jpg Starter... Low amps but voltage is good??... Well that would explain why she starts a little rough during cold starts (i.e.in the morning) http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/20/7ady8abu.jpg Alternator was good but amps wasn't registered?? No clue as to why. Might also be on the verge of pulling too much of a load when acc is on... http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/20/pegyhuhu.jpg And lastly the drain test... Passed no problems there. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/20/9e3a6e8a.jpg So in conclusion I'm a little confused about the starter and alternator as to salvage the parts or buy new ones

NickTej22
Probably voltage regulator in the alternator. I'd rather have it rebuilt, than buy a new one. Sent from my HTC One V using Tapatalk
ehsnils
Cranking current is also depending on the shape of the connectors and wires.
Grimmrican
I'd have to get under there and take a look :/
spooln30
It's weird that you didn't get any amp readout for both the battery or the starter. Is that tester set up correctly? Usually while cranking you should have 150+ amps on our cars. Having a low amp draw while starting in some cases means a bad starter well bad or worn internal parts. Grimmrican
Yea it was on correctly. And the machine runs prime. If I would've tested it again after I had already turned on the car I'm almost certain it would've tested ok. Te reason for the testing is because I thought I had a bad cell battery during cold starts. But the starter would explain why the cars idles rough then stabilizes. If I could take a video of it I would but not sure how to post it up on here
