I have a 98 legacy 2.5 gt. I had been driving close to empty for a while on the gas but today I filled the tank. I did not over fill it. when the pump shut off I stopped. I started the car and drove aabout a block away and it died. now it starts but as soon as it goes to idle it chugs out and dies. I thought it might be the fuel filter from running it so low for so long so I changed it. no ddifference. so then I changed the fuel pump and still nothing. but when you do start it and blow some break cleaner into the air intake it revs up and runs great. as soon as you stop spraying it dies. please post any ideas. all fuses are good as well.

Sounds like you have some kind of Vacuum leak in there.

Could be as simple as a vacuum hose fell off.

Look around or find a way to put a short blast of air in the vacuum system, or have a garage do a smoke test to find the leak.
