SunburnNYC
post a pic and I might be able to help from there... multiple fixes!
LongHiway
I got a few around the shifter face plate. I've used a plastic protectant (Super Improved Formula!) which covers the sccratches for a few days.

profmathers
[anal LGT owner on] Anybody try buffing out scratches in the silver paint around the radio? [/anal LGT owner off] I'd be happy to trade my scratch-free P201 Okay, okay...I'll be helpful... Try Meguiar's #17 and #10 clear plastic cleaner and polish. If you're really brave, or you're working on somebody else's car, you can also try plain white generic non-whitening toothpaste. Cleared up the yellowed lenses on my wife's old Camry before we sold it...it's also dandy for anal retentive mac users' white plastic laptop cases. Okay MY white plastic laptop. Buffed the scratches right out.
idontknow
Sunburn, sorry that's the best I could do with my camera. I've never wet sanded anything. How is it done? Profmathers, I found Maguiars #17, but I can't figure out which one is #10. Can you post a link? Here's the Maguiars website: http://www.meguiars.com/index.cfm What about trying this: http://www.meguiars.com/estore/products/product_G10307.jpg
iyalla
These paints are really thin. You run a real danger of going completely through them to the bare plastic below. Be very very careful. Very! Scratch X is aggressive. Meguiars #17 is less agressive but still be careful. You usually find #17 in a Boat store or Marine section.
SunburnNYC
Sunburn, here ya go... I think. http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpgimage.php?do=full&p=3953&d=1205169718 I would remove the part sand it down and repaint it. I doubt that Meguier's stuff will work -but is worth a try. If you are uncertain go to a good detail shop... they have tricks!
profmathers
[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-10-Plastic-Polish-Cleaner/dp/B0002VAZ34]Hope this helps[/ame]; I bought my #10 in a slightly different (more retail-ish) packaging from Advance Auto Parts--it's designed to be a clear plastic polish, and so far I've used it on a MacBook and my wife's headlight lenses with good results. Go slow, by hand, and don't work it when it's hot...worked for me
idontknow
Hmmmm... If there was an inconspicuous area of the dashboard to try these products on before I used them on the RADIO I think I would try it. But there isn't. So, maybe I'll try the detail shop and see what they say. There's a couple around here. I'll let you know what they say. Thanks for all the ideas! fonts
You can also try Plexus. I used to clean my motorcycle and helmut with it. Worked well on minor scratches and you won't have to worry about polishing through the clearcoat.
