iSooby
Just wonder if anyone has pictures of the 16" snow flake pattern rims like the one on my avatar sitting on tires with smaller side walls. Trying to figure out if that would lower it any and look good or just look ricer lol
tylorweaver
Snowflake.....? Huh? They refer to those as 'Honeycomb' or 'Basketweaves'.
tylorweaver
And yes, they would look ricer with low profile sidewall tires. Not to mention cost more, for each tire.
iSooby
I was just curious. I couldn't picture it in my head so I was looking for pics.... And I've always heard them refered to as snowflakes. Either way. I just wanna see
wish
snowflake is always what I've seen them called. And yeah, it would look worse cause you'd have more wheel gap.
Stang70Fastback
Yeah, I've also heard them referred to as snowflakes... ...and yeah, it would look stupid. I hate when people put too-small wheels on their car. It will look just as stupid as a stock, base-model Tacoma... http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/attachments/2nd-gen-tacomas/43002d1260413324-show-us-your-5-lug-base-model-20091101-dsc_3637.jpg

SpecBamf41
less top speed, less mpg, bumpier ride as smaller tires fall deeper into bumps, trust me i know, i drive golf carts for a living. BNR18g on 93oct

98LGTLover
I have always heard and used the term "snowflakes" with these rims. "Honeycomb" or "Basketweaves" are two terms I have never heard. I think 55 series tires are what you should run with these wheels, it would look dumb otherwise.
SpecBamf41
honey comb or mesh is more from the bmw scene, snowflakes are like them but rounded spokes instead of flush cuts. http://www.wheelsnext.com/images/wheels/large/beyern_mesh_sg_W.jpg http://xfkhfq.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pMeuvlN2VicyauQscm0DAOv9jehcf5TLf1Vix3rnM6a1KDv8Gv8WDI0NQTW5jYNR83cXlXv4_RCbXD7eoEtFWBw/IMG_2587%20(Small).JPG BNR18g on 93oct
98LGTLover
Well I have heard of those other two terms but I just haven't heard anyone refer to the GT rims as that.
SpecBamf41
mesh style is by far the sharpest wheel you can put on almost any car, not truck, car. BNR18g on 93oct

BAC5.2
I've only heard the Subaru wheels called "Snowflakes". Basket Weaves look like this: http://www.bavauto.com/assets/product_images/wheels/stylebl.jpg or this: http://www.ford-taurus.org/taurusinfo/G1/Basketweave.jpg Flip Key Development Thread "Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped." - E. RickyJxxx
I've only heard the Subaru wheels called "Snowflakes". Basket Weaves look like this: http://www.bavauto.com/assets/product_images/wheels/stylebl.jpg This is a true basketweave. BMW ran them on 3 and 5 series cars, built by BBS, mostly on the E30 325is & 325ix. They were the upgrade from the "bottlecap" wheel. The US market got the 14", while everyone else got 15" (referred to as the Euroweave). They were also stock on the E30 M3's in 15" with 5 lugs instead of 4. The E28 M5 got a 16" version of the wheel. Also, a "snowflake" wheel is also a popular name of an early VW wheel... http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/1975_VW_Volkswagen_Scirocco_Red_For_Sale_Front_1.jpg http://images2.rdefined.com/d/91245-1/RML01.jpg
