need bb Posted October 13, 2013 Share Posted October 13, 2013 I am looking for a mechanic in the North East who can rebuild my EJ255. I recently had a compression and leak down test performed and found that both cylinders 2 and 4 appear to have cracked ringlands. I am hoping that the current block can be honed so I can go with a set of forged pistons. I will be driving my backup 96 Impreza so I can afford to have the Legacy out of commission for a couple of months while the engine is rebuilt. Because of this I would prefer to find a private individual who would take this job on in their spare time. Also if you know of any shops that have reasonable pricing (just looking for a basic build) please let me know.
