need bb
Are there are springs that work with the stock non-SpecB top hats that don't lower the car much? I drive my wagon a lot in the city and I really can't afford to lower the car more than .75" without scraping on all the speed bumps. I am planning on getting some Koni's and I want a stiffer spring than the OEM's. All the springs I am seen lower the car at least 1" in front. MyWifezLEGi
U wont find any spring. U could always offset the height with bigger rims Ninja edit Check Sti spring
coldsubycz
King Springs out of Australia makes springs that can roughly maintain stock height and stiffen it up a bit, but only for the rear. Their front springs for the 4th gen's only lower. Oh, Legacy is called Liberty in Australia if you didn't know. King Springs website: http://www.kingsprings.com.au/ -Go to "Catalogue" -Click on link "King Springs 2013 Coil Spring Catalogue" PDF link - http://www.kingsprings.com.au/catalogue/kings_master_catalogue.pdf KSRL-29 should keep you close to stock KSRS-29 would jack up the rear. I purchased the KSRL-29's a few months ago for my LGT sedan, but went with coilovers so I haven't used them. They're still in the box wrapped in plastic. Might try to sell them. E-mail from King Springs I got back: "Hello, The KSRL-29's do raise the GT 5-10mm plus have an increase in spring rate of 15-20%. The KSRS-29's are a further 25mm higher than the KSRL-29's and I feel would be to high Regards , Kris Tarrant Sales and Technical Services IT Manager KING SPRINGWORKS PTY LTD" Who sells them in the USA: Primitive Enterprises, Inc 9460 SW Tigard St Suite 104 Tigard, OR 97223 503-624-2139 http://www.get-primitive.com/
mbcracken
I wonder how those springs would be with bilHD?
coldsubycz
Both King Springs and Primitive suggest KYB, but I'm sure that's to keep close to an OEM ride feel. I'm sure the Bilsteins would be fine. I was going to use the King Springs in the rear and stock springs in the front and use Konis all around.
Kelvrick
Well, there would also be a top hat difference, wouldn't there? I don't know much, so let me know if I'm wrong, but sticking the bilstein top hats on the kyb type springs would add height? My Outback
need bb
Bummer? What are the spring with the least drop?
sactojesse
Bummer? What are the spring with the least drop? STI pinks with Bilsteins result in a .6 in (15 mm) drop. You'll need Bilstein HDs and Spec B top hats though. That's what I'm running. It will save you the trouble of hacksawing through your stock front struts to fit the Konis. This likely to give you some rotation off throttle and under braking, FYI. Not my idea of fun in incliment weather.
dan04103
I run konis oem legacy front with king rear and no problems of this sort. Fine combo for dd and no issues in ice, snow, and rain. I do wish that king made a stiffer front oem spring but I'm happy.
LosAngelesLGT
Thanks for the heads up Dan! That makes me more confident about putting it in the rear of the wife's OBXT to help handle loads without having it surprise oversteer on her.

Anytime... and to add... when I was at outback height I ran OEM outback front with king rear and enjoyed the combo... although I need to note that I used the 04 rear kyb struts. Really nailed down the boaty feel in the rear. Let me know if you have any other questions LA.

I have the rear King Springs in my garage, which I need to sell, since I went with Bilstein PSS coils (which by they way are so awesome even at close to stock height). Wish I would have tried the Kings though to see how they felt.
need bb
So it looks like there are no front and rear springs that work with the Koni's that offer a minimal drop. From what I am hearing only the STI pink springs with the Bilstein HD struts are the only option. Is it possible to run some of the saggy shims in the front and the rear to add a little lift? Thanks
RabidWombat
Shorter springs + shims should give you the effect you're looking for. I don't know that anyone has tried it though.
need bb
Well it looks like a 1/4" front spacer is made for the LGT. I wonder if this would go well with a 1/2" rear spacer with Epic springs?? http://www.subtle-solutions.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_25_64_92&products_id=
JmP6889928
How about something like this? http://www.elephantracing.com/suspension/coilover/911coiloversleeve.htm http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=901/CA=7 Order a stiffer spring with some adjustability in the adaptation. Thanks Some outback guys have added over 1" of shims front and back to bilsteins to get height. You should check out some of those threads in the outback section. Example here (but there are more): http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/obxt-bilstein-xt-167299.html Also some info can be found in the lowered outback thread. Thanks What do you mean? Pinks do work with Konis. And that's what I intend to to also this year. I ran the sti pink wagon springs on my 05 LGT wagon and oiled with konis they were phenomenal for road racing. With the konis I could dial it in for mother in law duty or track duty. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
