Ok so I went with the D5R from tirerack.com and a set and a set of Kumho MX for rubber. The rims are 18X8.5 with a 50mm offset and the tires are 225/40/18. So far i like the tires but i have nt gotten the tires up to the tripple digits yet (mileage or speed) and can't really judge them yet. I know I need the tire gloss but I have been working so it will get on a detail on friday morning :)

Looks very aggressive. I like! :)

I think it's strange how on most other colors, especially the two blues that we have, the pairing of the 225/40/18 tires plus 18-inch wheels will visually make the car look "lower" - as if it has less fender-gap.

But strangely, with black, this gap seems to be enhanced.

Definitely, a drop is in-order! :D

Yes....they are Bronze...I looked @ those also.

They look great on your car....nice choice! No throw some springs on it & it will look schweeeet:)

Just curious though....it's a 18x8.5?

If I remember they only offered it in a 18x7.5 when I was looking.

Looks good! :icon_bigg I almost got those in grey, but I was concerned about the fitment. Do they rub when turning hard? Give us the feedback on the 8.5" width with 50 offset. Enjoy! :icon_bigg

Congrats! Those rims look great with your car...funny thing is I almost bought the same rims from tirerack but found the extact size that I wanted on ebay (with "real-time" pics and found out that it didn't have enough lip, however tirerack still had the best price, they were blowing those out). Are the wheels rubbing, they do "look" like the offset might be a little high for the 8.5"s but keep us posted! :D

But they do look great on your car!...the spokes look like they are sticking out more than the lip, or is it just my imagination??...lowering it will really make it stand out!...take a lot more pics for us!

Love them. Not a fan of gold wheels, except on black cars- that must go back to my Trans Am loving roots.

Parking should be A-OK unless you *really* like to edge-up on curbs. ;)

Watch out, though, for those times when you might not be actively thinking about curbing, such as through toll-gates, "weaving between" speed-bumps in parking decks/lots, or, for example, when picking up drive-through or going to the ATM.

Also, take extra care when rotating your tires, as with such a "muscular" wheel, you'll now suffer greatly from surface damage if you should accidentally let your rims do a face-plant!

:)

I love bulging rims, too. Either that, or make mine a deep-dish. :D

yeah well I was allready borrowing money from the bank of mom cause the tax return wouldnt cover it and tires in 235/35/18 are around $200 these wide for a 225 and they were under $100 a peice. I was on a budget and blew most of it on wheels (the way it should be). When it is time to replace them i will probably go 235 or 245. Also the quicker I could get off winter rubber the better. Damn the car feels good Nokian free :)

wow..that's a huge price gap between the 225's and 235's!!..good call on the size then...at least you are saving some weight on the tires by not going wider :icon_bigg (my reason for getting 225's on my 7.5" rims :icon_tong )
