MasAyinde
what's wrong with the regular 2008+ key and remote combo?
shadowsports
+1. You can get an '08 combo that comes precut for your vehicle from FBP for less $$.
.blackgt.
Wasn't someone selling a flip key alternative kit as well?
Sarli
Well, thank you shadowsports... I got a key from FredBeans, and the housing from ebay, and... worked my patience a little. After a trip to a locksmith, I have a subaru switchblade key. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Subaru-Flip-Key-Conversion-Kit-3-1-Button-Best-Design-Guaranteed-Compatible-/00/s/MTAwMFg4OTQ=/$(KGrHqZ,!mIE+ullNI-wBQBF2v0JRw~~60_58.JPG Side note: It is pretty amazing ... but everything I try to do that involves a Subaru dealer annoys me. This time, they said they "could not cut" my key because it was after market... 2 trips and $52 later, I have it done. (that was Metrowest subaru in Natick - Patrick Subaru was equivalent)

(that was Metrowest subaru in Natick - Patrick Subaru was equivalent) Damn that's alot. I got that same flips key off ebay for about $30, Used 09 Key for about $20(only needed remote must have black backing on remote if it's white it will not work) and then the key was about $5 to cut at a locksmith. $50 total for the key. Programming is easy. I actually have a DIY video on how to program a remote.

BTW even though that says 08 key it is actually an 09+ key. the 08 key fobs will not work on our flip key setups. The fob housing is squared off and much bulkier. When I get home I will add in some pictures of what is needed to do our fobs on the cheap side(used).
