07GTLEG
my 07 legacy gt has the factory alarm.i saw an available shock sensor that subaru offers.has anyone installed or heard of this item?
Whatisit
i have the shock sensor. all it does is sets the alarm off if it detects a "shock". IMO, it should be standard, not optional. http://cgi.ebay.ca/06-07-Subaru-Impreza-Security-Upgrade-Shock-Sensor-OEM_W0QQitemZ220282537261QQihZ012QQcategoryZ33720QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

07GTLEG
where does it get mounted at?and is the wiring already in place from the factory?
LGT Dave
where does it get mounted at?and is the wiring already in place from the factory? Here's a link to the install instructions: http://techinfo.subaru.com/html/downloadFree.jsp?doc_id=139274. It mounts under the front passenger seat and there is wiring taped up under there for it from the factory. If you install it yourself, you'll have to have to take the car to the dealer to have them activate it and they should also be able to adjust the sensitivity (I think...I don't have the perimeter alarm in my car). 07GTLEG
can i still install the factory subwoofer if i install the shaock sensor?does it interfere with the subwoofer mounting?
LGT Dave
The subwoofer installs under the front driver seat, and the shock sensor installs under the front passenger seat. You can have both installed at the same time without any problems.

Whatisit
Can you enable it yourself with the OEM Navi? i was playing with the navi controls a few weeks back, and I did see a "shock sensor on/off" button. mine was already on, so I think its a yes. there wasnt a sensitivity adjustment though
Mr. Sinister
Can you enable it yourself with the OEM Navi? No. Dealer needs to do it with the Subaru Select Monitor. I installed a shock sensor a while back and haven't gotten around to getting it activated yet.

g2redgsr
How much is the shock sensor? + getting it activated?
Mr. Sinister
How much is the shock sensor? Depends on the year. I've seen the 05/06 go for as low as $25. 07+, no more than $75. Cost to get it activated will depend on the dealer. It could be anywhere from free to the already mentioned .5 hour labor.

DesiSpecB
I had it factory installed in my 07 spec b. It's just a extra little box under the passenger seat. With the navigation package you can adjust the sensitivity. It's nothing special, save your money.
