atroby91
Looking at getting some Nokian Hakka R winter tires and I'm wondering if I can save a bit of money by going with a 195/65 15 vs the stock 205/55 16 to save $30/tire. Will 15" clear the calipers? Is it worth it for the extra side wall in the winter? Well the handling still be acceptable? Feel free to share your opinion on the hakkas too. Thanks! BrownBoy
If it's a limited, I believe 16"+ wheels are necessary. If you can find high clearance wheels like Braile or similar "rally" wheels, they may clear.
atroby91
Do limiteds have bigger calipers?
GEORGEROV
The 15" steels of my 97 Foz would not clear the front calipers of my 2000 Legacy Outback but would clear the rears . Would think there would be no chance on a 2005 .
atroby91
Thanks for the info. I guess this means I'm buying the bullet for 16" rubber and steelies! Anyone have any experience with winter tires or Hakkas? This will be my first winter with winter ties. (From WI/MN)
