natethomas2000
I would like to upgrade the wheels/tires on my XT. The stock wheels are 25 lbs and the tires are 26 lbs. I like the look of 18's, which would be 4lbs less than stock at each corner (21 lb rim and 26 lb tire). However, Going with 17's I could loose 11 lbs at each corner (17 lb rim and 23 lb tire). Would I be able to notice a difference in acceleration and braking? 18's would be 245/45/18 and 17's 225/55/17.
praedet
Only having what you gave me above to go by, I assumed a 7.5" width for both rims. I used the stock profile for both rims, a 3600 lb vehicle weight, and a 6.1s 0-60 stock. Your 0-60 would be 6.07s with the 18s (a roughly 20 lb reduction) whereas the 17s would pull a 5.99s. (70 lb reduction) The 17" rims would accelerate, brake, and handle better... Ted
