Timing belt guide?

Recommended Posts

I have a 05 lgt automatic.

Does it have a timing belt guide? My engine builder said it is missing and I can't find a stock example, let alone a replacement of one. I did find an aftermarket one, but I don't see where it's a factory thing.

Thread back from the dead... In process of doin my timing belt right now.. I just discovered that there is no guides at all on this motor.. is it ok to add a guide over the crank as I ordered a replacement anyhow.. can it do harm. I wouldn’t think so but...

Thanks

Dave

If you Have an automatic transmission I would not add a timing belt guide. There really is no use for it and it can cause the belt to be worn prematurely if not properly installed.
