lgtvf52
hey guys I saw that there was a tread on this for the V2's but haven't seen one for the V3 (at least not in my searching). Where do you guys have your COBB AP V3's mounted to get a good idea where to put mine!
Redryan98
I mounted mine in the corner of the windshield next to the A pillar, using a universal cell phone mount similar to this. Works great. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Black-Universal-Cell-Phone-Car-Holder-Mount-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-1-2-3-s1-/271243423903?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item3f275e309f#ht_2313wt_6022
Andyjo
So those who run theirs all the time, doesn't the ODBII cable get in the way? or do you relocate the plug? or.. is it a 90 degree? just curious, because i know on my v1 the cable is VERY loose. SeeeeeYa
So those who run theirs all the time, doesn't the ODBII cable get in the way? or do you relocate the plug? or.. is it a 90 degree? just curious, because i know on my v1 the cable is VERY loose. The OBDII receptacle "unplugs" from its bracket, and with it unplugged you can insert your AP cable and secure it conveniently out of the way with ties. I made my own AP bracket and mounted it in front of the left AC vent, permanently, because I logged every mile I drove and monitored a variety of parameters on-the-fly. The logs served my tuning, the daily display kept me aware. IMO, an AFR meter is also an indispensable part of a tuned car's monitors.
crankshift
steering wheel is only slightly in the way of a couple of gauges on the left of the screen (if you have 6 gauges going) feels good and out of the way while driving and easy to see
Andyjo
Doesn't it get in the way of the volume?
crankshift
functionally no (visually it does mostly block it though), thats why I posted the second pic so you can see all the clearance for the volume button
SeeeeeYa
Here is the one I made. It has an HD Velcro pad so AP can be selectively positioned. Ultra stable, doesn't interfere with vent function, fully visible and fully usable. Clips or unclips to/from vent in a second. I tried about every other place. All were unstable when pushing AP controls, lacked full visibility, or were distracting to access or use. This one evolved as having none of those issues. Scooby2.5
I mounted the V3 AP mount between the radio volume knob and the heater knob near the edge right on the radio. I ran the cable under my floor mat (Husky Floor Liners) Works real good there. Here is a picture and also a picture of my AFR gauge, Vent Boost Gauge designed and sold right here on LGT.com http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/vent-boost-gauge-digital-led-bars-numerics-125083.html?t=125083&highlight=vent+boost+gauge

INVNO1
Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but has anyone came up with any better options yet. Was kinda hoping Cobb would make one of their pillar mounts for our cars but they haven't responded to my request yet. LOL!
TheMonaLisa
The Cobb pillar mount would probably fit. Wanna be the guinea pig? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
serx7
I currently mount mine in front of the left center console vent, using a Koomus magnetic smartphone mount (which I used to use for my phone). The AP3's metallic back snaps to the magnetic mount pretty nicely. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ef8awomv4a0xjwq/Photo%20Jun%2019%2C%204%2037%2054%20PM.jpg?dl=0 [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SZ2SIDQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00]Amazon.com: Koomus Magnetos Universal Air Vent Magnetic Cradle-less Smartphone Car Mount Holder for iPhone 6 6+ 5 5S 5C 4 4S iPod touch, Samsung Galaxy S5 S4 S3 Note 2 Note 3 Google Droid HTC GPS with Quick-snap technology: Cell Phones & Accessories[/ame] I just bought a Satechi mount (arrived today), since it'll let me move the AP3 away from the vent's airflow (it gets too hot in the winter and too cold in summer). Not sure it'll let me put it in a convenient position but if not I'll put it the rightside center console vent to hold my phone.
