GetAwayDriver
Wanted to know what some of the better brands of tire pressure gauges are? Looking to get something new and would like to get a gauge that does its job a bit better than your typical plastic dealership stick. Thank you

PGT
I bought this one from Campbell Hausfeld for $25: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0007ZJ1IK.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg It has a deflate button as well, which makes it a snap to get perfect pressure. It's meant to be hooked up to a compressor, so it might not be exactly what you are looking for.
LotusSeven
Griot's sells a nice, backlit digital gauge that reads to 1/10 of a pound. Also reads in kPsa for metric lovers. Have one--love it--works great if you're anal about tire pressure! http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=44498 Heavy Metal Killed Beethoven Support Classical Music
harrydog
I have several tire pressure guages from Accu-Gage. They are well made, durable, and plenty accurate enough for the application. I like the ones without the flexible hose on them better. The one I find most conveient to use is similar to this one except it's 60 lb, not 100 lb. It has a swivel end and it holds the pressure reading until you press the reset button. There are plenty of online sources for these. I prefer them to digital - no batteries to worry about. http://www.accu-gage.com/index.htm Mine also has a rubber shock protector like this, which is a good idea. http://www.temeculamotorsports.com/eshopprod_cat_1674-12950-13605_product_155484.ACCUGAGE_RUBBER__SHOCK_ABSORB.htm http://www.accu-gage.com/dial.htm I keep one of these guages in each of our vehicles as well as one in my tool box at home. They all read the same pressure, so accuracy is very consistent between them.
KA81
i believe paying x amount of money for a tire pressure isnt that important no matter how accurate it may claim or look the important part is using the same tire guage and checking the air when it's at room temperature (checking when the car hasnt moved and the tires are the same temperature as its surroundings) after all tire pressure tends to go up and down depending on the temp

LotusSeven
hate you. now I have to buy that. Sorry!! And I didn't even mention that the backlight is a cool LED blue. Every LGT wagon NEEDs one of these as standard equipment. If the wife, girlfriend, significant other complains about more $'s going into the car--remind her/him that it's a piece of saftey gear and you're really only concerned about her/his well being! GetAwayDriver
Thanks for all the replies. I purchased one online for about 20.00. I thought my tires had slow leaks and I swung by a Chevron yesterday to check out my tires. All is fine... its just those crappy Romeo Echo Niner Twos... I love Amazon. I added a set of screwdrivers to my order (who can have too many?) and got free shipping. So I ended up paying a few bucks extra ... but I'd rather pay for tools than freight!
