Claw
I had a new windshield installed a few weeks ago and the fitment of the new glass leaves quite a bit to be desired compared to the old glass. In the upper left and right corners, the weatherstripping actually leaves a gap between the rubber and the metal. What would you recommend using to fill those gaps? I'm thinking black silicone caulking.. I'm worried they'll rust down the line as I don't know how much of that 9 year old window sealant needed a pneumatic hammer to remove when it was done. http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff385/stfurtfm/IMG_0189_zps6mrgfbwi.jpg Any way to suck out the moisture inside if there's any prior to sealing it up? Thanks...
underpowerd
i had a similar thing, but actually not even that pronounced; i did what you're thinking of doing... and still have my leak -- it's baffling, as i have gone to extremes to seal even the most miniscule gap around the entire edge from the a-pillars on up and around. i guess the point is that if it's not done right up there in plain view, chances are it's not done right down below (under wiper area) either. i'd call them back to do it right if you have that option. gl
