Another "what's my car worth" thread (2006 LGT 66K)

Recommended Posts

Title says it..

Car is in flawless shape. only the driver seat looks like it's been sat in at all, interior is perfect, nothing broken no scratches no wear. Carpets perfect (I used winter mats to preserve the carpets), body has no dents and paint is excellent for a 4 year old car, and this one is 8 years old.

Garage kept day and night.

White with tan leather.

Tires are good with 60-70% life

New pads

Auto

All the normal options (6 disk, pwr seats CC ect..)

No mods (exept MP3 plug and built in phone charger) adult driven.

I put a little plasti-dip on it, but that will peel right off.

I had a Blackstone labs oil report showing the engine is in great shape (at least as much as an oil report can show).

KBB lists the car between $16k-18.5K

There is a "Subaru weekend" at the local track (Summit point). I was thinking about sitting out there over a weekend and see what kinda offers I can get...

I know auto hurts a little bit n the enthusiast community, but there are a lot of guys out there who are whipped enough that they can't buy unless their girl can drive (and she can't/ won't drive stick)...so...

Thoughts?

It's nice. I'd venture a guess that you're not going to get anything more than $15k at the VERY most. You always stand a chance of finding someone who wants your exact car though, so best of luck.

If I had to guess I'd say you're likely to get offers around $10-12k--this is coming from recent experience selling my 5eat wagon. Being patient with the sale will benefit, every now and then people are actually looking for 5eats.

You mention very little about maintenance history, do you have the records?

I do my own oil changes, and I'm pretty sure I have receipts. I've done most of the 60k service (with records), but put off the timing belt, was planning on getting it done shortly, but if I sell, I may just let the new owner do it and discount for the work.

Timing belt is do at 105k.

Everyone that DIY, should keep a note book of what they have done to the car.

I keep a little pocket size note pad with date, miles, and what I did for all my car except my 86 F150. I even have the note book from my 92 Honda Civic.

The dealer copied my note book to show Subaru that I had done the required miantenance to get warranty coverage for the tranny rebuild at 72k.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

Wow, a nationwide search for Legacy GT's (under 75K miles) turns up 10 cars from 12K-18K with the average being 16k(not including the $21k Spec B).

I'd consider $16k for mine. Otherwise I'll probably just keep it.

I did take some maintenance notes on when I did oil changes...

Good news on the Timing belt. For some reason thought it was 60K....

For what's it's worth, I've just bought mine for 11 500$

Black Manual LGT 2005

66k miles

car in mint condition, 0 rust (which is amazing in Canada for a car that old but anti rust was done for the last 7 years on the car so..), no scratches, clear bra 3M on headlight, hood, roof

No modification done

Came with 2 sets of 17'' mags (Rota + stock with both winter and summer tire, winter 8-9/32, summer 5-6/32)

Did the whole battery of test and only found 3 minor problems (need to change a pole on the battery, something with the A/C that will need to be done in the following months and some rush on the midpipe but nothing serious for the moment), leakdown + compression came back perfect

Interior super clean

Tinted window

Always went to the same garage for maintenance (specialised in Subaru). Saw the whole record, around 3000$ from his pocket while he was the owner. Had the breaks done less than a year ago.

garage said it was the cleanest LGT they had in the shop.

The car was for sale for 2 months so he did lower the price significantly ever since he first started to sell it. I think he first started at 13500
