WESTcoast
Any stock stereo's from the impreza, forester(up to 07) and legacy(up to 04) will go right in to your stock harness. Check cruthfield.com for stereos they have dash install kits in which makes install extremely simple! They also have alot of good reviews. I found that if you are on thier site and looking up a 2nd gen legacy you wont show double din units, what i did to get around that is look for a 3rd gen legacy and then you can get single and double din results

WESTcoast
ok here is the stereo im getting Amazon.com: Sony CDXGT56UI CD Receiver with USB input: Car Electronics wiring harness Amazon.com: Stereo Wire Harness Subaru Legacy 95 96 97 98 99 (car radio wiring installation parts): Car Electronics with that combo you shouldnt have any problem hooking it up with some butt connectors and a pliers. on the sony stereo you should get a harness which plugs into the stereo, and then you take your subaru harness adapter and you match up the wires from diagram to diagram pretty simple. once you get the harness together now you have a plug and play radio! stevenva
There is no dash install kit. It is an ISO mount radio. Single Din with the pocket or double DIN will work using the factory radio side mounts. stevenva
?? The radio you posted a link to is a DIN size. All Iso mounting does is not using the traditional radio sleeve. The only Jap car that does not ISO mount is Honda. Look at the pictures in this link. http://www.installdr.com/TechDocs/999015.pdf RIP 96 Legacy 2.2 4EAT lost reverse @ 374,000 miles
