gstreev
I have an 05 LGT MT and picked up a used AP (old model) off a member here. Car is stock except for K&N panel filter and I loaded the Stage 1 91 Octane Map. I notice that I never see more than 14#s of boost, usually in the 13s. Isn't that the stock amount of boost? I'm at sea level. I thought the AP would raise the boost to around 15#s. I usually run 93 octane fuel, should I switch to the 93 octane map for more power? Is it safe to use a boost controller to raise my boost a couple of #s with either of these maps?
goneskiian
If you can get the higher octane gas definitely run the other map. Also remember though that these maps are fairly conservative maps that COBB created to cover EVERYONE from folks like yourself at sea level to folks more than a mile up in the rockies. Not sure about the manual boost controller. It's not something I would do but if you have experience with them give it a shot. Cheers!
keithk831
The Cobb Stg 1 map doesn't have a huge impact on boost because the stock downpipe restricts the turbo from making that much boost; hence the reason for stage 2. So yeah, don't expect much extra boost. Most of it's going to be in the timing.
