Legacy 2005 with manual AC and Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a legacy 2006 with manual AC controls and I would like to install

the pioneer AVIC-Z140BH with Sirius and the traffic module.

I searched this site quite a bit but I am not sure that I find the answers that

I need and I hope might someone here has some insights.

First of all I ordered the the Scosche SU2025BKT with the antenna adapter

and the wire harness.

My first worry here is if this Scosche dash kit looks like in terms of the finish,

color and texture with the Subaru's dash color and texture.

If not is there another one which is better than this?

Now I want to install the above navigation system and I also need

the sirius connect the sirius receiver and the pioneer traffic module

Is there any space inside the dash where I can put all the little boxes?

Also where is the best place to route the GPS antenna. I would prefer something which is invisible.

Any other suggestion will be appreciated

Thanks

I am trying to find the relevant info but still I feel that I dont have much

Anyway I ordered the Scosche dash kit which I hope it will be the same color and texture

with the original dash kit. The kit comes with the harness and the antenna adapter.

I decided to go with the AVIC-Z140BH and I am reading the installation instructions.

Also I found out that I need the CD-SB10 and the sirius connect SCC1 for the sirius.

Now I have the following questions.

a) The Pioneer says that there is a wire that I need to connect it in order the navigation

system to detect the speed of the vehicle. Does the legacy provides the speed in a

such way so the Pioneer can detect the speed?

b) I have to mount 2 antennas. 1) The GPS antenna and the Sirius antenna.

I am not very fond of placing the antennas on the dash just below the windshield

so I will need your opinion to place these antennas somewhere else.

c) Do we have enough space inside the dash so I can put all these?

I mean the AVIC the CD-SB10 and the sirius receiver?

d) The AVIC has a wire which is connected to the parking brakes. I dont want the Navigation system to know

if I am parked or not so I can have the full functionallity so what do I do with this wire ? grounded?

Thanks
