caschmidt
caschmidt, Your car looks nice. Where did you source that McIntosh head unit? Do you have the full speaker set up? How does it sound? Thanks! Ben I got it on ebay. Usually the head unit runs around $300 and the amp is like $100 (although u could use any 4 or 5 channel). It took a bit of soldering and speaker wire. I got the whole chebang for 200. I do not have the speakers yet, nor the sub in the back. I hear the oiginal Mc speakers (4 coax+tweets+sub) were just made by nokia, the same as my stock speakers. Ive got to do some more research on it, but I hear MB Quart makes some top quality stuff in germany. The 6x9 sub that goes on the back deck is like $300, im just going to wait a bit before I spend the money on the rest. Cant wait til I have all 11 speakers though It sounds amazing even with 10 year old beat up speakers. So much better than stock. I can turn it up to the limit of the current speaks, and u can definitely hear that the speakers are very tired but that the signal is amazingly clear. thinking about getting one? i highly reccomend

I was looking at it but the only setup I saw on ebay was $800. I can get a way better system for that kind of money. I think I'll just stay OEM. I am going to get the "upgraded" poly cone setup for $60 since what I have now is just the AM/FM stock radio and only two front door speakers. Should be a big improvement. caschmidt
Yeah it makes a huge difference. Didn't realize how oxidized they actually were until they were clear again.
Izzy_
Hey that was a fun day !! The kit is Meguiars http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G1900 I highly reccomend using a sealant regularly to keep them clean and protected. Otherwise they will get oxidized again more quickly. Mine lasted a few months before I fucked them up while baking/hot air blowing them to remove the yellow corners. Speaking of which.... Do not hot air blow them if you want to open them. Only bake them cuz it's very easy to destroy the plastic housing.
caschmidt
that was fun, We'll need to do that again once you get back. You're still invited to my 200,000 mi party probably at the end of june. its only a 3 hour drive

RJE
I used a $6 Turtlewax kit that I had pretty low hopes for. I couldn't even see through my fogs when I started, but they looked pretty much brand new when I got done. Absolutely worth the money. Too bad I ran over the other fog the day the above picture was taken . Long story; it starts with me hitting a racoon and ends with me running over a loose fog light assembly that had been epoxy-ed back together and poorly mounted. Anyone ever tried putting 6" hellas in instead of fogs? Hahahaha
LegacyGT-B
Hey All, Here's my Legacy GT-B I picked up just recently over here in Aus. Sold my 2000 model WRX for this and have been stoked with the change. Little bit more room and plenty of fun to drive. Still own an XT Forester, but I keep that for the work car.
